Are you completely new to exercise? Or perhaps you have worked out and been active your entire life? No matter what your fitness level is, you will be appropriately challenged during your training sessions. Communication is the key and Joanna will be your coach, guiding you along your fitness journey and empowering you with movement skills that translate from one workout to the next as you progress towards your fitness goal.
While all sessions are considered Personal Training, additional services (Pilates, Injury Prevention & Reconditioning, and Sports Specific Training) are available above and beyond general fitness. Your sessions can focus exclusively on one specialty or encompass any combination of these services depending on your goals, interests, and physical needs.
The STOTT PILATES® method is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. STOTT PILATES exercises are designed to restore the natural curves of the spine and re-balance the muscles around the joints. This involves placing more emphasis on pelvic and scapular stabilization, and integration of all the parts of the body into one. As well, preparatory exercises and modifications allow the technique to be appropriate for many different body types and abilities, making it applicable to sport-specific training and everyday life. Training sessions are powered by STOTT PILATES® equipment.

Yoga was developed up to 5,000 years ago in India as a comprehensive system for wellbeing on all levels: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. While Yoga is often equated with Hatha Yoga, the well-known system of postures and breathing techniques, Hatha Yoga is only a part of the overall discipline of Yoga. Joanna’s specializes in fitness and alignment based yoga. She instructs one on one and small group allowing for individualized attention to address postural & muscular imbalances, injury prevention & reconditioning and individual fitness goals.
Injury Prevention and Reconditioning
Whether you are currently suffering from a chronic or acute injury, recovering from surgery, or wish to decrease your chances of injury or re-injury, Joanna uses her previous background as an Athletic Therapist to assess, progress and help you recover. If necessary your physician, surgeon or health care provider will be contacted to co-ordinate your care.
Sports Specific Training
Whatever your sport, your sessions can be tailored to help you improve your game. A big focus is placed on improving movement mechanics & core strength, identifying & correcting imbalances and preventing injuries.
Small Group Personal Training
If you are looking for an economical solution to personalized training, interested in complimenting your one on one sessions with a small group session or simply enjoy the camaraderie and motivation of working out with others - Small Group Personal Training may be for you! Sessions can incorporate any mode of training that you and your partner(s) desire and can include any combination of disciplines from traditional strength training, to TRX, to Pilates, to Barre. So grab a buddy or two or three and lets get you moving together!
